“I like to play themed concerts because they allow me explore a certain subject in depth. The flavor and meaning of each song becomes richer because each song plays a distinct role for the experience of the whole.”
Harp Concerts
Marie Nivel has played in in cafes, churches, yoga centers, at festivals for ceremonies and other events. She has been on stage with other artists, such as singer songwriter Giita Rani Tanderø and Hang drum player Marco Bandera. Most recently Marie has performed with her folk band Melusine. In 2015 her band and she had several concerts that where inspired by the celtic festival of Samhain. She called it “The Unquiet Grave”. In fall 2017 she will appear with a series of concerts called “O Carolans Dream”, a concert inspired by the Irish harper and composer Turlough O Carolan which will weave O Carolan’s life, compositions, Irish history and folklore magically together.
